Responsibilities
- Responsible for the completion of work orders for tasks related to the physical maintenance and repairs of the assigned buildings utilizing work order-related software programs
- Responsible for implementing routine physical improvements
- Responding to emergencies in accordance with departmental protocol
- Aid Supervisor in establishing and maintaining all equipment, tools, supplies in stock, inventories and logs
- Implement, with the Supervisor, a comprehensive preventative maintenance plan and maintain all related records and logs
- Absorb control expenses associated with the operation of the buildings
- Communicate effectively to appropriate individual building status and changes
- Adequate to take directions and follow instructions
- Organize and prioritize tasks to ensure accuracy and timely completion
- Utilize materials, supplies, tools, and other building property in a safe, productive manner
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications
- 2+ years of related work experience and technical training
- High school graduate or GED required, technical school training in maintenance-related courses are preferred
- Ability to understand and interpret design documents, manufacturer’s specifications and written operational procedures
- Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure teamwork and positive client/tenant/co-worker relations
- Ability to take directions and follow instructions
- Safety conscious
- Basic aptitude for mathematics
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new job-related software
- Have working knowledge of tools and their proper use
- CFC Handling Certification is preferred
- Must be located in Charleston, SC area
- Must be in office, on-site, 5 days a week and drive to the various properties with employee-owned vehicle, as needed
- Hrs of this role will be 8-5, Monday through Friday, with availability for after-hours emergencies and participation in on-call rotation
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without need for employer sponsorship now or in the future
