Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the completion of work orders for tasks related to the physical maintenance and repairs of the assigned buildings utilizing work order-related software programs
  • Responsible for implementing routine physical improvements
  • Responding to emergencies in accordance with departmental protocol
  • Aid Supervisor in establishing and maintaining all equipment, tools, supplies in stock, inventories and logs
  • Implement, with the Supervisor, a comprehensive preventative maintenance plan and maintain all related records and logs
  • Absorb control expenses associated with the operation of the buildings
  • Communicate effectively to appropriate individual building status and changes
  • Absolute adherence to all safety standards, policies & procedures, codes of conduct and best practices
  • Always act professionally and courteously with tenants, hospital clients, co-workers, vendors, patients, etc.
  • Utilize materials, supplies, tools, and other building property in a safe, productive manner
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of related work experience and technical training
  • High school graduate or GED required, technical school training in maintenance-related courses are preferred
  • Ability to understand and interpret design documents, manufacturer’s specifications and written operational procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure teamwork and positive client/tenant/co-worker relations
  • Ability to take directions and follow instructions
  • Must be safety conscious
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Basic aptitude for mathematics
  • Must have working knowledge of tools and their proper use
  • CFC Handling Certification is preferred, stationary engineer license preferred as well
  • Must be located in Indianapolis, IN area or willing to relocate
  • Must be in office, on-site, 5 days a week and drive employee-owned vehicle, as needed
  • Hrs of this role will be 7:30-4:00, Monday through Friday, with availability for after-hours emergencies and participation in on-call rotation
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without need for employer sponsorship now or in the future
