Maintenance Technician

About the role

This role is a hands-on, trade-heavy position within the Maintenance department at Landings Management, LLC. You'll be part of a supportive team in Newburgh, handling tasks such as apartment turnovers, work orders, preventative maintenance, and emergency calls.

Responsibilities

• Complete apartment turnovers with an emphasis on carpentry tasks including doors, cabinets, trim, drywall, and finish work
• Knock out work orders promptly and correctly, typically within 24 hours
• Diagnose and repair issues across electrical, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC systems
• Execute preventative maintenance on building systems to stay ahead of problems
• Respond to emergency calls on a rotating basis (evenings, weekends, and holidays)
• Support seasonal needs like snow removal and other property operations
• Collaborate with your team on light construction and upgrade projects

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in multi-family maintenance, construction, or a trade (carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, or similar)
• Solid carpentry skills — framing, finishing, cabinetry, drywall, or comparable work
• Working knowledge of general building systems: electrical, plumbing, and HVAC
• A sharp eye for detail and pride in quality workmanship
• A team-first attitude and strong work ethic
• Good organizational and communication skills
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• A high school diploma or equivalent; trade schooling a plus

• Regular standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), climbing, crouching, and working in all weather conditions
