Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical issues, including outlets, switches, breakers, lighting fixtures, LED upgrades, and ballasts.
- Aid in running power to new workstations and relocating existing equipment.
- Perform general facility maintenance tasks such as painting, minor plumbing repairs, patchwork, and basic carpentry.
- Conduct routine building and safety inspections to ensure compliance and safe working conditions.
- Ensure emergency exits, safety stations, and work areas remain clear and operational.
- Perform preventative maintenance on fabrication and shop equipment, including greasing bearings, changing filters, and checking fluid levels.
- Maintain overall shop cleanliness and organization to support safe operations.
- Support equipment and utility support by monitoring and maintaining critical shop utilities such as air compressor systems and overhead cranes.
- Assist in troubleshooting equipment that is not operating correctly or has lost power.
- Help maintain overall shop cleanliness and organization to support safe operations.
- Respond quickly to maintenance requests and facility-related issues.
- Identify potential maintenance concerns before they become major operational problems.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and lifts when performing repairs.
- Maintain maintenance logs and communicate completed work to supervisors.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of basic electrical systems and troubleshooting.
- Ability to safely use a multimeter to test for voltage, continuity, and electrical issues.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and general “handyman” skillset.
- Experience using standard hand and power tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and determine effective repair solutions.
- Strong attention to safety and detail.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to follow instructions, manuals, and maintenance procedures.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environment.
- Experience working with overhead cranes, compressors, or fabrication equipment.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs.
- Forklift or scissor lift certification preferred.
- OSHA certification or safety training experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout a large shop environment.
- Comfortable working at heights using ladders or scissor lifts.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
