Maintenance Technician

KETTLER is seeking a Maintenance Technician for Bluffs Apartments in Bluffdale, UT. The role reports to the Maintenance Manager and involves general maintenance, repairs in apartments and buildings, and responding to resident service requests.

Responsibilities

• Handle multiple residential service requests daily.
• Respond to resident requests for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliance repair by troubleshooting and repairing or restoring service within quality and time standards; escalate to supervisor or outside contractor as needed.
• Participate in all maintenance projects.
• Prepare vacant units for market‑ready status through turn‑over repairs and improvements.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all property systems.
• Perform general repairs of property grounds, apartments, and building exteriors.
• Demonstrate customer service skills by treating residents with respect, answering questions, responding sensitively to complaints, and completing work orders efficiently and urgently.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• EPA/CFC Type I & II certifications preferred – must obtain within 90 days of hire.
• 1 year of apartment, hotel, or facilities maintenance experience with intermediate knowledge of HVAC, appliance, electrical, and plumbing repair.
• Valid driver’s license and residence within 30 minutes of the property.
• Outstanding customer service focus and ability to provide timely, accurate responses to residents.
• Availability for after‑hour emergency maintenance calls, including nights and weekends on a rotational basis.
• Personal reliable transportation for on‑call emergencies.
• Cell phone required for on‑call maintenance.
• Ability to use a computer.
• Good English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Physical ability to walk grounds and apartments, ascend stairs, lift up to 60 lb, climb ladders over 10 ft, and perform other general physical activities.

$27.00 – $28.00 per hour
