Key Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair assigned facility and production equipment to ensure optimum performance, usage, and quality
- Uphold all safety work standards, comply with applicable safety regulations, and maintain clean, organized work areas
- Assemble, disassemble, convert, and upgrade production lines and support equipment as required for repairs and installations
- Cook with contractors to repair, install, remove, and/or upgrade equipment
- Perform basic PLC operation and, as needed, basic programming tasks
- Conduct trial runs of machinery; fabricate new components, assemblies, part chutes, drops, conveyors, and auxiliary equipment as required
- Assist with equipment installations and execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks
- Regularly inspect production lines and proactively identify issues before they impact operations
- Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment to minimize downtime
- Collaborate with technical personnel across departments to improve machinery productivity and uptime
- Schedule and generate Preventive Maintenance work orders using Micromain
- Apply a broad range of mechanic skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting, and repair of production machines
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and work orders
- Perform general plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions as needed
- Identify and report faulty operations, defective materials, and any unusual conditions
- Communicate effectively with personnel across departments and maintain collaborative working relationships
Minimum Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent combination of education and production maintenance experience
- Minimum 1 year of manufacturing or industrial maintenance experience
- Strong skills in hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems; basic PLC experience required, HVAC knowledge a plus
- Experience with Injection Molding machinery, high-speed automation equipment, or assembly peripherals strongly preferred
- A degree or certificate in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred; basic PLC programming experience a bonus
- A valid Texas Driver’s license with a clean driving record
- The ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for the duration of a shift in a moderate-to-loud manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; strong written and verbal communication skills
- A self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- A positive, professional attitude with proven mechanical aptitude and the ability to apply mechanical, electrical, and material principles
