About the role

Indus Management Group is a property management company in Houston specializing in renovating and restoring distressed multifamily properties. With our first acquisition in 2002, Indus Management Group currently manages 38 apartment complexes in the Houston area. We specialize in the Class B & C property space, with approximately 11,000 units under management. Our goal has always been and continues to be to convert distressed properties into uplifted communities.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Property Manager in the efficient management of all maintenance-related work on the property
  • Repairs and monitors all AC-related issues
  • Ensures inventory is stocked and tracked
  • At leadership discretion, may lead the maintenance team by ensuring tickets are completed in a timely manner with the highest quality
  • Installs new heating, cooling, and ventilation systems
  • Inspects HVAC systems for effectiveness and safety
  • Performs preventative maintenance on HVAC systems to increase longevity
  • Conducts performance tests with specialized tools
  • Troubleshoots HVAC system issues and repairs damages
  • Supervises electrical issues at the property
  • Maintains inventory of all equipment and HVAC resources
  • Works within the safety guidelines outlined by the Maintenance Manager and/or the Company
  • Supports, trains, and develops maintenance employees and teams for future growth
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Must be willing to work on call as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: An associate's degree from an HVAC program preferred
  • Experience: Two (2) years of HVAC experience in the multi-family/residential industry required
  • License/Certification: Valid state driver’s license, EPA 608 Universal Certification. Preferably HVAC Type (1) License

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • English/Spanish fluency
  • Basic computer and smartphone skills
  • Effective interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Must always demonstrate professional and respectful behavior
  • Demonstrates the ability to influence and lead others to get work accomplished
  • Must be able to lift, pull, push, and carry at least 50 pounds
