Maintenance Technician

Schedule

Full-time position. Must be available Sundays (10:30 am to 7:00 pm) and Monday through Thursday (12:30 pm to 9:00 pm).

About the role

We are looking for an energetic self-starting person to join the Facilities Maintenance team at the Salt Lake City Jewish Community Center. You will provide our members and guests with the highest level of customer service while ensuring their safety in a fun and community-oriented environment. We take pride in providing the high level of safety and comfort our community counts on when they come to our facility.

Responsibilities

• Evening closings: turning off lights, checking doors and gates at closing of the facility, checking HVAC equipment throughout the facility.
• Checking indoor and outdoor pools and the spa for chemical balance and systems checks.
• Vacuuming the outdoor pool when in season.
• Assisting staff and members with duties as assigned.
• Completing preventative maintenance and work orders throughout the day, which are subject to change.
• Fleet vehicle cleaning and maintenance, including taking vehicles to the shop for repairs and tire changes, and occasional trips to have vehicles washed.
• Providing customer service to all members, employees, and guests.
• Executing minor repairs (hardware, plumbing, ceiling tile, grounds maintenance, etc.).
• Cleaning as required.
• Understanding rules, policies, and procedures as stated in the safety manual, and responding to emergencies.
• Assisting fellow staff with tasks and other minor jobs assigned by the Supervisor/Manager.

Requirements

• Experience in basic maintenance, including plumbing, carpentry, painting, tools, and equipment.
• A high level of integrity and a good work ethic.
• Desire to work and learn from others about maintaining a high-end property.
• Commitment to enhancing the lives of members and employees through excellent events, health and fitness, beautiful spaces, and educational classes.
• Ability to work outside in various weather conditions and perform cleaning duties as assigned.
• 21 years of age or older.
• Valid Driver’s License.
