Maintenance Technician

Job Responsibilities

• Maintain general maintenance of the exterior and interior of the property building
• Complete work orders promptly, including on-call requests
• Demonstrate the ability to resolve maintenance issues to prevent a recurrence
• Maintain inventory to ensure materials, supplies, and equipment are available on-site
• Inspect and test machinery and maintenance equipment
• Maintain a clean and safe environment; report unsafe conditions to the supervisor and recommend corrective action
• Partner with external vendors, contractors, and other maintenance team members on special projects
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Required Skills/Abilities:
  • HVAC certification preferred
  • Residential/apartment maintenance experience preferred
  • General residential maintenance skills required (A/C, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, electronics, drywall installation, and finishing)
  • Must be able to report to all on-call maintenance shifts as needed
  • Must be able to work independently
• Physical Requirements:
  • Requires manual dexterity with normal hand/finger movement and coordination
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull 50 pounds at variable distances often
  • Requires climbing ladders at high levels for maintenance and exterior A/C repairs
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into confined, limited spaces
  • Able to occasionally lift, carry, position, or move heavy objects
  • Able to walk for long periods, including climbing flights of stairs in various weather conditions
