Maintenance Technician Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on mills, lathes, drill presses, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and production equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
- Repair or replace bearings, belts, motors, pumps, valves, and machine components.
- Assist with machine alignment, leveling, calibration, and setup.
- Read blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, and work orders.
- Use precision measuring instruments and maintenance hand tools safely.
- Support machine changeovers and production startup activities.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and parts inventory documentation.
- Follow OSHA, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and company safety procedures.
- Assist senior technicians with larger repairs and equipment installations.
Maintenance Technician Qualifications
- Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or GED required. 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Advanced knowledge of mills, lathes, drill presses, and machining equipment. Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics. Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring devices. Basic welding and fabrication experience preferred. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying industrial conditions. Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or rotating shifts as needed. Valid drivers license.
- Preferred Skills: Basic PLC troubleshooting experience. Forklift or aerial lift certification. Experience with maintenance systems. 6+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
