Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair faulty machinery
- Install new production equipment
- Create and implement maintenance standard operating procedures based on specific machine knowledge
- Perform mechanical repairs and remove defective parts by dismantling devices, using hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools
- Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using calipers, micrometers, and other measurement tools
- Work with 2D and 3D computer-aided design and manufacturing software such as CAD or CAM
- Repair methods, including welding, inserting, or replacing items, will need to be made with consideration to quality, cost, and delivery
- Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories
- Prepare maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
- Complete required documentation, manually or by data entry
- Organize safe maintenance principles for regulating and scheduling breakdowns
- Equipment/asset care and Planned Preventive Maintenance processes and procedures
- Prioritize and complete daily work orders
- Overall plant maintenance and other directives as requested by management
- Participate in 5S, Quality, Safety, Kaizen, and lean manufacturing activities
- Comply with Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards, procedures, and instructions
- Maintain and improve high product quality by setting/managing proper welding conditions
Qualifications
- A High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One to three years of maintenance experience in automotive manufacturing/production environment
- Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
