Main Responsibilities
- Responsible for promoting, supporting and enforcing the elements of ISO 9001 as they apply to the maintenance department.
- Implement TPM program that supports operations and business objectives.
- Conduct daily shift start-up meetings discussing safety issues and the expected workload.
- Maintain strict adherence to company and safety policies/procedures.
- Follow safety and environmental requirements meeting regulatory requirements.
- Create a culture of safety within the maintenance department.
- Participate in safety meetings and dialogs, perform Job Hazard Analysis, and perform Incident Investigations as needed to maintain the safest work environment possible.
- Inform Manager of all employees or production issues as they arise.
- Directly supervise employees in the maintenance department.
- Ensure machinery in area is safe and working optimally; maintain constant alert for hazardous conditions and practices.
- Responsible for equipment maintenance and reliability throughout the plant and maintain and repair heavy industrial machinery, which includes plant equipment, piping systems, fluid power systems, cutting, burning and all types of welding.
- Responsible for building maintenance and reliability and maintaining all relevant plant systems including, but not limited to, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, landscaping/irrigation, HVAC, and general building construction and improvements.
- Demonstrate the ability to make decisions on equipment repairs and be self-motivated.
- Have the ability to read, follow and understand electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings, blueprints, schematics, code requirements, service manuals and manufacturers' specifications.
- Monitor condition of equipment and make maximum use of planned outages.
- Reduce MTTO (occurrence restoration), increase MTBO (between occurrences).
- Work with Purchasing, Maintenance, Engineering, and Physical Distribution in maintaining services for the plant.
- Determine work priorities for weekly and daily maintenance schedules and assist in the coordination of maintenance activities affecting production or quality.
- Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize to ensure minimum interruption to process.
- Communicate, motivate, supervise, counsel, develop, and discipline all direct reports when necessary.
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees as well as appraising performance, rewarding/disciplining, and addressing complaints.
- Conduct annual employee performance reviews; work closely with Manager to implement wage increases.
Technology & Communication Expectations

- Candidates Must Be Computer and iPhone literate and able to navigate company systems, applications, and mobile tools to find corrective actions and repair solutions alongside supervision.
- Able to read and respond to daily emails from their supervisor.
- Responsible for staying current with all company communications and training requirements.
- An effective partner in troubleshooting and working with supervision to identify root causes and deliver sound repair solutions.
Minimum Requirements
- Ability to perform Essential Duties and Responsibilities listed above.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 elements and understanding of their applicability to the department.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook); comfortable using computers and iPhones/mobile devices for daily work tasks.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing concepts and OSHA requirements (preferred).
- Previous production and supervisory and/or leader experience.
- Intermediate understanding and real-world experience in mechanical troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing manufacturing equipment. (bearings, pulleys, belts, lubrication systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, (AC, DC, and servo motors).
- Experience using a wide range of hand tools and power tools used in an industrial environment.
- Basic understanding and real-world experience in facilities maintenance (doors, windows, lighting, ceiling tiles, etc.).
- Ability to work at heights.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
