Duties and Responsibilities
- Reading building, mechanical, electrical prints and schematics.
- Testing and repair of basic electrical circuits such as switches and outlets.
- Testing and repair of all types of ballasted lighting (metal halide, high pressure sodium, florescent).
- Performing preventative maintenance on all equipment and buildings.
- Performing repairs and maintenance of plumbing fixtures and valves.
- Installation of new plumbing, main supplies, feeder lines and fixtures.
- Operation of man lifts both platform and boom style.
- Perform work from ladders and lifts at heights of up to sixty feet.
- Operation of forklift.
- Carpentry skills including the ability to figure materials and labor required to complete projects, operate various types of equipment required.
- Performing basic repairs to sheetrock and wall coverings, painting.
- Installation and repair of basic floor coverings and coatings.
- Repair and maintain commercial kitchen equipment, ice machines, ovens, stoves and fryers.
- Daily communications with facility management to discuss project and repair status and set priorities.
- Must be available for evening, weekend and holiday work as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years maintenance experience with a major convention center/ hotel, maintenance with industrial facility or medical center physical plant.
- Graduation from high school or accredited equivalency program.
- Ability to demonstrate good oral and written communications.
- Ability to anticipate and effectively deal with a large number of details with concurrent and overlapping deadlines for completion.
Essential Job Qualifications
- Must retain a valid driver’s license and meet the eligibility requirements to drive while conducting company business.
Physical requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to seventy five pounds and have sufficient dexterity to walk, kneel, crouch or crawl for long periods while performing work.
- Ability to climb ladders up to thirty feet.
- Tolerance to work in adverse conditions such heat, cold, dust and inclement weather.
