Duties & Responsibilities
- Affords assistance in completing work in “make-ready” apartments, which includes tasks such as painting, drywall repair, carpet and floor cleaning, window washing, and general maintenance repairs.
- Performs routine preventive maintenance and conducts regular community inspections as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
- Maintains the grounds, ensuring common areas are free from trash and debris.
- Assists in maintaining all mechanical equipment, including HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical components.
- Proposes necessary repairs or replacements for both interior and exterior areas.
- Complies with Fair Housing laws and standards.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, with trade or technical school training being advantageous.
- At least one year of hands-on experience in painting, cleaning, plumbing, carpentry, or a similar maintenance-related field.
- A Fire Safety Manager Certification is preferred, or willingness to obtain one upon employment.
- Basic computer skills to generate work orders using a property management software system.
- The ability to lift and handle heavy equipment is essential.
- A valid driver's license and auto insurance are required.
- EPA, CPO, HVAC, and CFC certifications are beneficial but not mandatory.
- The ability to work evenings and weekends may be necessary.
