Position Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs across residential units, commercial spaces, and common areas, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry
- Complete work orders efficiently while providing high-quality customer service to residents and commercial tenants
- Support upkeep of a historic property, ensuring repairs maintain the integrity and appearance of the building
- Conduct preventative maintenance and routine inspections of building systems, common areas, and grounds
- Aid with apartment turnovers, including repairs, painting, and preparation for new occupancy
- Maintain accurate records of work orders, inspections, and completed tasks
- Respond to maintenance emergencies and participate in an on-call rotation as required
- Ensure compliance with HUD Housing Quality Standards (HQS), safety protocols, and company policies
- Assist with regulatory inspections, audits, and preparation for compliance reviews
- Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance spaces in a clean and organized manner
- Support groundskeeping, snow removal, and general property upkeep as needed
- Communicate professionally with residents, vendors, and team members
Requirements
- 2+ years of maintenance experience, preferably in residential or affordable housing
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building systems
- Experience working in older or historic buildings preferred
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and complete repairs independently
- Strong customer service skills and ability to interact with a diverse resident population
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks as required
- Valid driver’s license preferred
