Maintenance Technician

About the role

Habitat America, LLC is seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician in Forest Glen Apartments in Silver Spring, MD. This position is responsible for all technical matters related to general apartment maintenance, including unit turnovers and being part of the after-hours on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Handle all technical maintenance tasks related to apartments
• Assist with unit turnovers
• Participate in the after-hours on-call rotation

Requirements

• 3+ years prior apartment maintenance experience
• Experience with appliance repairs, general carpentry, basic plumbing, basic electrical work, drywall and painting
• Preferred but not required: HVAC & CFC certifications
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

Qualifications

• Energetic, self-motivated individual who is able to work as a team
• Previous experience with apartment maintenance, such as appliance troubleshooting, drywall, and painting
• Desired: Plumbing experience
• PREFERRED: HVAC/CFC Certification
• Able to understand and oversee work performed by contractors
• Pleasant and professional demeanor at all times
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
• Extensive mobility and excellent physical condition
• Able and willing to work weekends

Pay

The hourly wage is dependent on experience and certification.

Schedule

This position requires weekend availability and participation in an on-call rotation.
