About the Role
Join our team as a hands-on Facilities Maintenance Technician and help maintain and improve our facilities, grounds, equipment, and building systems to ensure a safe, clean, and productive environment. This is an on-site position for someone who enjoys solving problems, working with their hands, and contributing to the success of the organization every day.
Responsibilities
- Perform general building maintenance including drywall repair, painting, flooring, concrete work, plumbing repairs, roof repairs, and sprinkler system maintenance.
- Complete carpentry projects including wall construction, drywall patching, and light woodworking.
- Perform basic welding and metal fabrication as needed.
- Monitor and maintain HVAC systems, including routine maintenance and filter replacement.
- Maintain and repair small engine equipment and various facility tools.
- Perform grounds maintenance including mowing, mulching, landscaping, irrigation system upkeep, and plant care.
- Remove snow and ice to ensure safe access to company facilities.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist with maintaining building security systems including door access controls, alarms, and camera systems.
- Assist with monitoring and maintaining fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems.
- Support office personnel with furniture moves, workspace reconfigurations, monitor installations, and conference room setups.
- Perform janitorial and general facility support duties as needed.
- Coordinate and oversee third-party service providers including HVAC, roofing, plumbing, asphalt, and other specialty contractors.
- Ensure contractors comply with company safety standards and property guidelines.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to facility-related emergencies as required.
- Other duties as assigned by employer.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3+ years of facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or related experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds and perform physical labor in a variety of weather conditions.
- Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain certification.
Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience in carpentry, mechanical repair, facilities maintenance, or multi-trade environments.
- Basic welding and metalworking experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, building systems, and preventative maintenance practices.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and maintenance equipment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
