The Cincinnati Insurance Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform routine lighting maintenance and repairs, including bulb and ballast replacement, fixture cleaning, and basic troubleshooting.
- Perform basic plumbing tasks, such as clearing drains, replacing faucet components, addressing minor leaks, maintaining battery operated restroom fixtures and supporting winterization operations.
- Complete minor carpentry and office furniture tasks, including assembling or adjusting desks, shelves, chairs, and installing whiteboards, monitor arms, hanging pictures, etc.
- Complete simple power and horizontal/CAT6 cabling installs for furniture reconfigurations.
- Conduct routine inspections on various building architectural systems and equipment such as stairwells, restrooms, conference rooms, common areas, walkways, fire extinguishers, etc.
- Support health, safety and appearance standards, ensuring all common areas remain clean, professional, and well-maintained.
- Support event setups, moves, workstation arrangements, and office reconfigurations.
- Aid with basic groundskeeping tasks, such as debris pickup, sweeping walkways, emptying exterior trashcans, and pressure washing areas as needed.
- Maintain the aesthetics of the facilities by assisting with watering seasonal flowering beds, planters, etc. and assisting with leaf management as needed in the fall.
- Support snow removal activities, including salting walkways, shoveling entrances, or operating snow removal equipment such as plows, UTVs, snowblowers, etc.
- Respond as needed during emergency situations (leaks, power outages, snow removal, etc.) which may occur outside of normal business hours, at night or during weekends/holidays.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support smooth facility operations, including working overtime, nights, weekends, and call-ins as required for scheduled maintenance and building or equipment emergencies.
Qualifications
- Ability to safely and correctly use hand tools and light power tools (drills, drivers, small saws, measuring tools, meters, etc.).
- Use basic Microsoft computer applications, including Outlook and MS Teams, to communicate with the maintenance team and vendors as needed.
- Use handheld radio to communicate with maintenance and security team during routine maintenance and emergency response.
- Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to receive, complete, and document work orders and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Read, interpret, and follow basic building drawings, floor plans, simple specifications, and manufacturer instructions.
- Provide courteous communication and maintain professional interactions with building occupants, vendors, and team members.
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to communicate clearly with non-technical audiences.
- Understand and follow basic maintenance safety practices, including proper PPE, hazard recognition, and safeguarding personnel from potential hazard exposure.
- Maintain a driver’s license and is eligible to operate company vehicles.
- Maintain CPR, First Aid and AED training and/or certification.
Physical Requirements
- Occasional: climbing ladders, stooping/crouching, lifting/pushing/pulling moderate weight.
- Frequent: bending, twisting, carrying tools/materials.
