Essential Functions
- Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment through preventive maintenance.
- Completes 5S, GMP, and Kaizen events.
- Assists and supports production by providing mechanical maintenance and answering line calls.
- Troubleshoots and locates the source of problems during mechanical device operation.
- Performs proactive line inspections to identify and resolve potential issues.
- Performs job setups and changeovers on forming machines, handling and gauging hardware, vision systems, automatic packing and packaging equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical distribution systems, schematics, blueprints, and equipment.
- Tests, repairs, and maintains emergency and normal electrical distribution systems and equipment.
- Performs electrical changes, updates, modifications, and installation of new equipment.
- Determines changes in part requirements by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
- Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.
- Aids in the collection of data related to trends and assists with the production of maintenance reports.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Assists with outside electrical contractors and repair organizations.
- Affirms all assigned equipment is clean and all safety guarding is in place.
- Performs mechanical/electrical safety checks on equipment and systems.
Additional Responsibilities
- Communicates and coordinates with various departments such as engineering, operations, quality, and production.
- Demonstrates behavior that meets Good Manufacturing Practices, Safety, and Good Housekeeping requirements.
- Supports Quality Management System (QMS), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), and Formula G initiatives.
Education/Experience
- Two-year electrical degree preferred or five years of electrical experience in manufacturing.
- Industrial Maintenance Degree or Certification in Electrical, Electronics, or North Carolina Licensed or Registered Electrician required.
- Prior experience of 2-4 years in related manufacturing environment.
- Lockout/Tagout certified or experience.
Formal Qualifications/Competencies Required
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical diagrams and drawings.
