Maintenance Technician

Job Functions

• Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment.
• Search for and make any necessary repairs on all equipment.
• Perform monthly safety checks and ensure that safety related items are functioning properly.
• Install and set up new machinery.
• Follow all lockout, maintenance, and safety procedures.
• Provide continuous improvement.
• Recommend plans and implement equipment needs to improve production efficiency and/or cost reduction procedures.
• Auxiliary duties include assisting in the laying out of and modifying of electrical and mechanical equipment within the plant, operating various hand tools and other stationary equipment in performing the needed repairs, maintaining these tools and equipment, serving as an electrician in repairing electrical malfunctions and installing new equipment, serving as a plumber in assembling, installing and repairing pipes, fittings and fixtures on heating, cooling, sewer and water systems, opening clogged drains and cooling systems in the facility and on the molding presses, acting as a carpenter in the alteration, repair painting and maintenance of the building and wood fixtures in the building, painting machinery as needed, and keeping work area clean and organized at all times.
