Full Job Description Freedom Behavioral is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring the facility operates efficiently by performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks to uphold safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the facility, including structural repairs to windows, doors, and wallsRepair broken or leaking plumbing fixtures to prevent damage and restore full useAddress electrical wiring issues such as shortages or severed wiresMaintain HVAC systems to ensure proper climate control within the facilityApply preventative measures, such as sealing flat roofs, to reduce future risksRepair potential safety hazards to prevent injuriesPaint interior or exterior areas where paint is faded or chippedPerform basic plumbing to resolve leaks, clogs, or drainage problemsHandle electrical wiring repairs for facility operationsConduct basic carpentry repairs as neededProvide groundskeeping maintenance for lawns and outdoor areasInteract pleasantly with staff and residentsMaintain attention to detail to ensure all tasks are completed to the highest standards Physical Requirements Ability to stand for 60-80% of each working shiftAbility to sit for extended periods (up to 4 hours)Walking and standing frequently required to complete tasksAbility to lift and carry 10 pounds or more as neededPhysical stamina to remain active throughout the shiftMust pass tuberculosis testing upon hire and annually thereafter Work Environment Exposure to moderate to high noise levels, fumes, cleaning chemicals, dust, mist, and steamSmoke-free workplacePotential exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissues (Category II)Stressful environment due to frequent interruptions and servicing psychiatric patients with acute and crisis needs Position Requirements Education: High School Diploma (minimum)Experience: At least 1 year of general maintenance experience in a hospital or business setting, including facility upkeep tasksLicense: None required Skills & Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to read and comprehend written instructionsAbility to follow verbal instructions effectivelyKnowledge in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, groundskeeping, and general facility maintenance Equal Employment Opportunity Statement Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Bunkie provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment, prohibiting discrimination and harassment of any type.
