Maintenance Technician

About the role

Facility Management Corporation (FMC Ice Sports) manages 25 public ice skating arenas across Massachusetts, providing ice‑based programs and facility maintenance. Working under the Senior Maintenance Technician, you will perform routine building maintenance tasks in carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and related trades at various locations, with travel to all 26 sites required and a company vehicle provided.

Responsibilities

• Implement building repairs and maintenance per work assignments and open tickets.
• Perform minor electrical maintenance (fixture replacement/repair using hand, power, specialty tools).
• Perform minor plumbing maintenance (leak repair, drain unclogging, trenching, laying new lines, replacing drain hoses).
• Perform minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work (surface preparation, paint/stain/varnish application, hanging doors, fitting locks/handles).
• Prepare surfaces and paint structures/equipment to protect wood, concrete, metal from corrosion and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Respond to and remove graffiti using available products and soda blasting.
• Conduct system checks and troubleshooting.
• Maintain a clean and hazard‑free work environment.
• Adhere to FMC rules, policies, Mission Statement, and Patron’s Creed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Maintenance Technician and VP of Maintenance and Operations.
• Travel to all 26 locations; company vehicle provided.

Requirements

• Minimum two years’ facility maintenance experience with common tools and equipment.
• Completion of trade or technical school courses/certifications preferred.
• Self‑starter able to work on a variety of projects/tasks.
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
• Consent to Motor Vehicle Check (company vehicle use).
• Consent to CORI/SORI and background check.

Pay

Schedule

Work schedule may include a condensed work week and a rotational on‑call schedule.
