About the role
The Maintenance Technician ensures the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of multiple school properties across Southwest Michigan. This includes maintaining interior and exterior facilities, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, light construction, light landscaping, permitting, and recordkeeping to meet state and federal guidelines for licensed Head Start and childcare facilities.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair interior and exterior facilities
- Service HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Perform light construction and landscaping tasks
- Ensure compliance with permitting and recordkeeping requirements
- Adhere to state and federal guidelines for licensed Head Start and childcare facilities
Requirements
- Minimum of an Associate’s Degree or equivalent with five years’ experience in Facility Management, Maintenance, and repair
- Desired: Seven years’ experience in Facility Management, Maintenance, and repair
- Must be 18 years or older
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Pass a physical examination, comprehensive fingerprinted criminal background check, and pre-employment drug screen (including negative results for Amphetamines, Cannabinoids (THC/Marijuana), Cocaine, Opiates, and Phencyclidine (PCP))
- Marijuana is prohibited in the workplace or in one's system, even if legally prescribed
Pay
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent: $22.62/hour
- Bachelor’s Degree: $25.64/hour
- Master’s Degree or higher: $28.67/hour
Schedule
- Full-time, year-round (12-month), non-exempt position
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (40 hours per week)
- Work hours may vary due to daily schedule or trainings

Location: Paw Paw, Michigan
