Maintenance Technician

What You Will Do

• Maintains production and quality by ensuring the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.
• Completes preventive and reactive maintenance on electric arc furnaces, material handling systems, overhead cranes, industrial dust collectors, etc.
• Follows diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, engineering specifications and safety policies.
• Troubleshoots malfunctions by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Removes and replaces defective parts by dismantling devices, using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools, and examining form and texture of parts.
• Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Adjusts functional parts of equipment by using hand and power tools, levels, and straightedges.
• Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop and weld shop instrumentation and equipment.

What We Seek

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Highly safety oriented
• Ability to work in very high and low temperatures
• Welding: 2 years + (Preferred)

Pay Grades

• Tech 1: Entry Level with applicable skillset.
• Tech 2: Familiar with all areas of the plant, can contribute to any maintenance task.
• Tech 3: Mastery Level, leads tasks and projects, can serve as backup to Maintenance Supervisor.

Schedule

• 10 hour shift
• 12 hour shift
• 8 hour shift

Salary

$29.04 - $31.99 per hour

Working Environment

• Performs jobs under varying conditions (dust, oil, grease, hot and humid temperatures, fumes, noise, etc.)
• Ability to lift 50lbs, Floor to waist, Waist to shoulder.
• Overhead, Carry 20 feet
• Wears proper PPE in the manufacturing area (shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection)
