Maintenance Technician

About the role
C.H.I. Overhead Doors is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Arthur, IL. As a key member of our operations, you'll be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production and facility equipment — keeping our lines running efficiently and safely. This role requires a strong blend of mechanical and electrical expertise. You'll work on complex systems including electrical panels, motor controls, PLC systems, and pneumatic and hydraulic equipment. This role centers on preventive maintenance and immediate emergency response.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair production machines and plant equipment across a variety of systems.
- Apply advanced skills across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to identify root causes and resolve issues efficiently.
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and schematics to perform required maintenance and service.
- Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs during production, responding immediately according to assigned area of expertise.
- Safely operate various hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment while maintaining clean, orderly work areas.

Schedule
Typical schedule is Mon–Fri, 6am–5pm, with one rotating night shift week every 8 weeks (5pm–4am). This role requires flexible scheduling at times, depending on the needs of the business, and may also include mandatory overtime.
Pay
$40-50/hour total starting pay (includes a base hourly rate of $25.73-$28.18/hour plus a weekly production bonus). Current bonus average is 74%.
Example: Hourly Base Rate = 25.73 | Weekly Production Bonus = 70% | Total Hourly Rate = $43.74
- Production Bonus: Variable percentage based on attaining production goals each week. Paid out weekly.
- Profit-Sharing: 10% of Nucor's pre-tax earnings are contributed to the Profit Sharing Plan annually and distributed to all eligible teammates. Current 6-year average = 19.88% of your eligible earnings (includes regular pay, overtime, and bonus).

Requirements
- Must have valid driver's license
- Mechanical aptitude, demonstrated by any ONE of the following:
- Completion of a craft apprenticeship
- 2 years of experience in a manufacturing facility or automotive industry
- Certification as an Electrical Technician or in Industrial Maintenance (any accredited program)
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance.
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
- Experience with VFD & Servo Drive Systems.
- Experience in CNC machine maintenance & troubleshooting.
- PLC experience.
