Maintenance Technician

About the role

Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the physical plant including all buildings, grounds on campus, and other off-campus locations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Dismantle machines or equipment to gain access and replace defective parts.
  • Respond to work order requests for service.
  • Paint walls, woodwork, and ceilings using paint rollers and brushes.
  • Repair window and door hardware.
  • Measure and install pipe and tubing for gas and water systems.
  • Move furniture and prepare for special events.
  • Remove ice and snow throughout campus.
  • Inspect machinery, buildings, and grounds for defects to plan future repairs.
  • Assist in agency clean-up and set-ups for functions.
  • Check-in vendors to campus, obtain confidentiality agreements, review work safety plans and training, and obtain sign-off on work safety expectations.
  • Respond to emergency situations.
  • Complete monthly safety inspections.
  • Perform light electrical work and address light plumbing issues.
  • Rotate within the on-call coverage schedule.

Schedule

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with flexible and long hours required. Includes a weekend/after-hours rotating on-call schedule. Eligible for a flex schedule within the pay week, subject to supervisor approval. This position is essential during inclement weather.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years’ experience performing a variety of maintenance activities.
