About the role
Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the physical plant including all buildings, grounds on campus, and other off-campus locations as needed.
Responsibilities
- Dismantle machines or equipment to gain access and replace defective parts.
- Respond to work order requests for service.
- Paint walls, woodwork, and ceilings using paint rollers and brushes.
- Repair window and door hardware.
- Measure and install pipe and tubing for gas and water systems.
- Move furniture and prepare for special events.
- Remove ice and snow throughout campus.
- Inspect machinery, buildings, and grounds for defects to plan future repairs.
- Assist in agency clean-up and set-ups for functions.
- Check-in vendors to campus, obtain confidentiality agreements, review work safety plans and training, and obtain sign-off on work safety expectations.
- Respond to emergency situations.
- Complete monthly safety inspections.
- Perform light electrical work and address light plumbing issues.
- Rotate within the on-call coverage schedule.
Schedule
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with flexible and long hours required. Includes a weekend/after-hours rotating on-call schedule. Eligible for a flex schedule within the pay week, subject to supervisor approval. This position is essential during inclement weather.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years’ experience performing a variety of maintenance activities.
