About the role

Maintenance employees assist with all maintenance functions within the plant, performing regular and preventative maintenance for machinery. This position also involves assisting with installation, maintenance, and testing of Research and Development equipment for initial production, plant troubleshooting, and continuous improvement projects. Responsibilities include processing work orders and performing daily preventative maintenance tasks according to procedures and schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, service, adjust, and test equipment such as air systems, refrigeration units, hydraulic tanks, compressors, and condensers.
  • Assemble and disassemble equipment effectively and efficiently while maintaining high maintenance and safety standards.
  • Utilize both hand and power tools effectively while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Operate forklifts, hoists, and other heavy equipment as needed.
  • Immediately report or repair any problems noted during shift and communicate with maintenance management for direction or coordination.
  • Maintain the integrity of procedures and processes established by ownership.
  • Learn all aspects of facility systems to advance in level and compensation.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to improve technical competency and effectiveness.
  • Perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Above average mechanical aptitude servicing precision machine parts.
  • Basic electrical knowledge.
  • Knowledge and ability to maintain certification for operating material handling equipment and servicing complex refrigeration and mechanical systems.
  • General knowledge of computers and software is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with all levels of employees.
  • Good observation and analytical evaluation skills for troubleshooting and diagnosing problems.
  • Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Regular and punctual attendance.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 60 lbs.
  • Requires walking, standing, climbing, bending, reaching, and handling.
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, including weekends.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of plant maintenance experience is preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent, or verifiable ability to perform essential job functions.
