About the role

This is a skilled industrial electrician position requiring skills in trouble shooting and maintaining industrial automation and controls. The position involves identifying faults, determining if issues are electrical or mechanical, and performing repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair defective equipment.
  • Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical control systems associated with industrial machinery.
  • Aids fellow maintenance personnel and contract integrators/engineers in the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment.
  • Installs, programs, troubleshoots, and maintains AC and DC drives.
  • Installs, troubleshoots, and maintains AC and DC motors.
  • Troubleshoots Programmable Logic Controls using maintenance software with a laptop computer.
  • Experience with Rockwell drives, Lenze Drives, Bosch Drives, AB Control logic, PLC, AB drives, Siemens drives, Siemens S7 & S5 series PLC is a plus.
  • Must be familiar with and understand the proper use of test instruments used in this position.
  • Ability to read and draw schematic diagrams associated with ladder logic, electrical device installation, and function.
  • Willing to be on-call for emergency repairs and assist on PM days.
  • Able to lead a group of people to accomplish a specific task or project.
  • Understand the NEC (National Electric Code) and its application in an industrial setting.
  • Must comply with company safety policies and actively enforce them.
  • Complete forklift training and maintain a forklift license.
  • Work extended hours (up to 16 hours) as needed.
  • Respond to calls from production departments and communicate with group leaders/supervisors regarding the nature of the call.
  • Clean up after work performed and maintain the shop area.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in the electrical trade, including completion of an apprenticeship.
  • Knowledge of the practices, methods, tools, equipment, and materials of the electrical trade.
  • Knowledge of applicable electrical codes.
  • Skilled in the use and care of tools and equipment used in the electrical trade.
  • Skilled in locating and adjusting defects in electrical systems and equipment.
  • The ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and read and interpret electrical schematics, sketches, diagrams, and blueprints.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Pay

Compensation is negotiable and based on experience.

Schedule

This is an hourly position requiring rotating day/night 12-hour shifts.
