About The Role
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment, machinery, facility systems, and building structures to support safe and efficient production operations. This role supports preventative maintenance activities, minimizes downtime, and helps ensure equipment reliability within the manufacturing environment.
What You'll Do
- Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to industrial equipment, forklifts, chemicals, dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Required PPE must be worn at all times.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine equipment inspections.
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and production downtime.
- Install and repair machinery, components, and control systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical documents.
- Maintain and repair facility equipment and building structures.
- Repair or replace motors, conveyors, sensors, bearings, belts, and related components.
- Use welding skills to complete equipment and facility repairs.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and repair documentation.
- Support continuous improvement efforts to increase equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and lockout/tagout requirements.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and leadership teams to meet operational goals.
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and lift throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to safely work on ladders, lifts, and elevated platforms.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, moving equipment, heat, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to support occasional outdoor maintenance activities in seasonal weather conditions.
- Ability to work overtime or flexible hours as needed.
What We're Looking For
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Technical certification or maintenance-related training preferred.
- Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
- Ability to use and interpret basic electrical testing equipment and meter functions.
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking and documentation.
