Maintenance Technician

About the Role

The maintenance technician performs diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment. This role supports the site's business goals through safety, predictive, and productive maintenance processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production, as well as scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service.
• Perform simple machinist duties and mechanical tasks, including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and adjust equipment.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
• Handle plumbing maintenance and carpentry tasks.
• Use hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
• Detect faulty operations or defective materials and report unusual situations with proper supervision.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean, orderly work areas.
• Interact daily with the Maintenance Manager, Director of Facility, Executive Director of Operations, Production Manager, mechanical technicians, shift supervisors, leads, vendors, and contractors.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in a food manufacturing facility or a 2-year degree in applied technology.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, PLC, and pneumatics systems, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
• Moderate troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational skills for planning and scheduling maintenance tasks.
• Ability to use measuring tools and apply basic math skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ethical conduct and strong time management skills.
