Responsibilities
- Perform repairs or preventative maintenance on one or more of the following types of equipment/systems: Electrical systems ranging from 24 VDC to 480 VAC 3 phase, Mechanical systems, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, PLC and networks, Robots, Fluid movement systems, Conveyors, Boilers, Chemical treatment systems, and Electrical systems.
- Read and interpret documents and drawings.
- Read and comprehend procedures and manuals.
- Problem-solve and troubleshoot equipment.
- Evaluate facilities, equipment, and other infrastructure to determine need for corrective and/or preventive maintenance work.
- Maintain accurate and detailed maintenance records.
- Absorb and assist with modification or repair work performed by outside contractors, vendors, and other consultants.
- Communicate well between production employees, other maintenance technicians, and department management.
- Participate in plant safety, health, and environmental programs.
- Capable and willing to work overtime.
- Support a company culture of continuous improvement by participating in efficiency and improvement efforts.
Requirements
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- At least 3 years’ experience with troubleshooting, control devices, pneumatics, mechanics, and electrical repair.
- Can read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Prior food production experience.
Qualifications
- Preferred Post-secondary education and/or a technical trade certificate.
- PLC/ Logic/ automation training certificate.
- Welding certificate or fabrication experience.
- Experience in the operation of a powder dairy plant.
