Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs or preventative maintenance on one or more of the following types of equipment/systems: Electrical systems ranging from 24 VDC to 480 VAC 3 phase, Mechanical systems, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, PLC and networks, Robots, Fluid movement systems, Conveyors, Boilers, Chemical treatment systems, and Electrical systems.
• Read and interpret documents and drawings.
• Read and comprehend procedures and manuals.
• Problem-solve and troubleshoot equipment.
• Evaluate facilities, equipment, and other infrastructure to determine need for corrective and/or preventive maintenance work.
• Maintain accurate and detailed maintenance records.
• Absorb and assist with modification or repair work performed by outside contractors, vendors, and other consultants.
• Communicate well between production employees, other maintenance technicians, and department management.
• Participate in plant safety, health, and environmental programs.
• Capable and willing to work overtime.
• Support a company culture of continuous improvement by participating in efficiency and improvement efforts.

Requirements

• High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• At least 3 years’ experience with troubleshooting, control devices, pneumatics, mechanics, and electrical repair.
• Can read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Prior food production experience.

Qualifications

• Preferred Post-secondary education and/or a technical trade certificate.
• PLC/ Logic/ automation training certificate.
• Welding certificate or fabrication experience.
• Experience in the operation of a powder dairy plant.
