About the Role
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the safe, efficient operation and upkeep of building systems and common areas. This role performs general maintenance, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting across building systems in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as organizational policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs in common areas and building systems
- Assist with preventive maintenance programs using computerized maintenance systems (CMMS)
- Troubleshoot basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical issues
- Conduct inspections to ensure facility safety and compliance
- Support HVAC preventive maintenance procedures
- Assist with water system checks and general building operations
- Respond to maintenance requests and emergency calls, including during off-hours when on-call
- Maintain accurate maintenance and service records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1-3 years of general maintenance or building operations experience preferred
- Experience in healthcare, residential, or commercial facilities is a plus
Skills
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Ability to use maintenance management software and basic computer applications
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Certifications
- EPA Refrigerant Certification (preferred, or willingness to obtain)
- Any trade-related certifications are a plus
- Note: A Stationary Engineer's License is not required for this position
Schedule
- Full-time, day shift
- Rotating weekends and holidays required
- On-call rotation required
