About the role
This position supports, diagnoses, and executes corrective actions for the site/plant maintenance program, including preventive and predictive maintenance of equipment and building to ensure optimum efficiency and output. Safety is the number one priority. The role reports to the site’s plant manager or maintenance manager.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to following all safety standards, procedures, and practices to ensure a safe working environment.
- Understand and follow Lock Out Tag Out procedures for all equipment and processes within a manufacturing environment.
- Use hand and related tools for machinery and equipment repair.
- Understand basic electrical circuitry and differentiate between low-level and high-level voltage.
- Work collaboratively on team projects.
- Utilize tablets and computers to record preventive maintenance activities.
- Maintain safety guarding, machine uptime, and the preventive maintenance program.
- Pursue continued training and development to improve preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Understand manufacturing processes and equipment, including specifications and operations, to ensure optimum efficiency.
- Support and maintain the preventive maintenance program (Fixx system) to ensure equipment maintenance is performed as required.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Work with and assist outside contractors, ensuring they meet Cellofoam safety standards and protocols.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
- Perform other production duties as requested by supervisor.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve issues.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere with a culture of respect for others.
- Use appropriate judgment in upward communication regarding plant or employee concerns.
- Maintain working knowledge of and comply with corporate standards for business conduct and Federal anti-trust laws.
- Adhere to Cellofoam North America Inc. company focus areas: Safety, Financial, Customer, and People.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years training or experience in industrial maintenance.
- Good communication skills and self-motivation.
- Mechanical knowledge of machinery and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Troubleshooting skills to determine root causes of operating errors and decide corrective actions.
- Prior experience in electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics operation and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and understand CAD and blueprints (preferred).
- Organizational, communication, and team-building skills.
- Computer proficiency; Microsoft Office preferred.
Schedule
- Flexibility in working hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Overtime work may be required.
