Maintenance Technician

Overview

The successful candidate will preserve the good condition and functionality of premises, performing a variety of maintenance tasks such as painting, building/machinery repairs/PM, landscaping, and more. The role requires a thorough professional with a practical mind, attention to detail, the ability to work autonomously, and adherence to all health and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair equipment.
• Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, assist with new electrical installations, etc.).
• Conduct preventive maintenance on heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality.
• Execute manual repairs as needed (fix locks, replace windows, etc.).
• Carry out general upkeep procedures such as landscaping, painting, and carpentry.
• Provide input for budget preparation and ensure adherence.
• Operate forklift throughout the facility for waste‑management duties.
• Write and follow work instructions for preventive‑maintenance tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Training / Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certificate in building/machinery maintenance technology or a related field (preferred).
• Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) – desired.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Two or more years of related experience.
• Proven experience as a maintenance technician.
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems.
• Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.
• Manual dexterity and problem‑solving skills.
• Good physical condition and strength with willingness to work overtime.

Safety Requirements

• Report all injuries/illnesses to supervisor on the day of the incident.
• Report any unsafe conditions in the work area to supervisor.
• Comply with all CAF USA safety policies, procedures, and requirements, including Job Safety Analysis (JSA) procedures.
• Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as communicated and supplied.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times.
• Attend all required CAF USA training before starting assigned work.
• Do not operate CAF USA equipment (forklifts, cranes, scissor lifts) until certified.

Pay

Estimated wage range: $30.00 /hr to $37.00 /hr (subject to factors such as skill set, experience, licensure, certifications, and geographic differential).
