About the Role
Performs a variety of maintenance upkeep, repair, or work on equipment, buildings, and grounds. This role involves regular duties in electrical, mechanical, metal working, welding, and pipefitting.
Responsibilities
- Installs and maintains water, gas, air, oil, and heating piping and associated equipment, such as pumps, reducing/relief valves, temperature control, and ventilating systems.
- Performs electrical work, including plan layouts, installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, and apparatus such as fuses, circuit breakers, switches, and motors.
- Diagnoses and fixes electrical failures or problems.
- Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance.
- Troubleshoots mechanical devices in operation.
- Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.
- Determines changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
- Maintains inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Performs mechanical operations to build, repair, and maintain plant machinery, working from drawings or samples and using machines such as grinders, hand tools, and measuring instruments.
- Performs metal working duties, such as repairing or installing steel or aluminum wall siding, doors, duct work, shelving, and other metal materials.
- Inspects buildings and grounds for any repairs or maintenance needed and reports findings to the supervisor.
- Follows all safety policies and procedures, including the use of safety equipment (PPE) and equipment safeguards.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Minimum of five years of maintenance experience in manufacturing.
- 2nd shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
- On-call rotation required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of PLC and boilers.
Working Conditions
- Continuous physical activity throughout the workday, such as climbing, balancing, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, hearing, talking, repetitive motion, and moving objects weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Operates a variety of handheld power and mechanical tools.
- Works inside and outside, with noise above ambient level.
- Proximity to moving mechanical parts; may require wearing hearing protection and/or a respirator.
- Inside areas may periodically reach temperatures over 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Confined space entry will be required.
