Maintenance Technician
About the role
We're seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team at Avenue5 Residential. This position involves addressing a variety of maintenance tasks, ensuring high standards of customer service, and maintaining the property's safety and cleanliness.
Responsibilities
- Perform repairs to electrical, plumbing, appliances, flooring, carpentry, HVAC, and grounds maintenance as per state guidelines.
- Carry out general carpentry duties such as wallboard repair, countertop/cabinet replacement, finish carpentry, window/glass repair, door/lock repair, and ceramic tile repair.
- Conduct various proactive preventative maintenance tasks including siding, painting, lighting, sprinkler, pool, golf-cart, elevator, and more.
- Verify and complete all work orders in a timely manner to meet company and resident standards.
- Inspect property grounds, buildings, and common areas to ensure safety and cleanliness, and address any issues requiring maintenance, repair, or replacement.
- Assist with property emergencies such as snow removal, fire, and flood responses.
- Communicate promptly with maintenance leadership regarding all maintenance issues.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance, promoting safety and risk management.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, other properties, and associated agencies.
- Adhere to company risk management policies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of experience in property management or a related field.
- General maintenance and carpentry skills.
- A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and current auto insurance.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Basic math skills.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to multi-task and cope with challenging situations.
- Professional appearance and uniform compliance.
- Completion and successful passing of the Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within 30 days of employment.

Pay
$21 to $25 per hour, plus a 50% housing discount.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, with occasional on-call rotations.
