About the role
Curries is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support day-to-day maintenance activities within our manufacturing operation in Mason City, Iowa. This role is crucial for ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and maintaining a safe, efficient production environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment.
- Troubleshoot complex systems, document completed work, and provide feedback to improve maintenance strategies and equipment performance.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair production equipment, including conveyors, presses, roll formers, welders, robots, and related systems.
- Diagnose equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to reduce unplanned downtime.
- Complete advanced and routine PMs in accordance with established procedures.
- Accurately document work performed, parts used, and equipment status in the maintenance management system.
- Provide input and recommendations to improve maintenance plans, reliability, and safety.
- Support maintenance projects, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist and provide guidance to other technicians as needed.
- Work independently on off-shifts as required.
- Support special assignments and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification in Industrial Maintenance or a related field preferred.
- Hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong troubleshooting ability across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Demonstrated experience completing preventive maintenance activities independently.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, manuals, and technical documentation.
- Root cause analysis and corrective action experience.
- Comfortable working independently and supporting less experienced technicians.
- Willingness to obtain or maintain required certifications (forklift, aerial lift, safety training).
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or off-shift hours as needed.
