The Specialty Equipment segment includes Anderson Dahlen, located in Ramsey, MN, and Waconia, MN. Anderson Dahlen delivers end-to-end equipment design-build and contract manufacturing, with precision fabrication cutting, forming, machining, welding, finishing, and complex assemblies backed by engineering, integration, and complete process solutions including skids and sanitary platforms tailored to customer applications. About the role

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the uninterrupted flow of production by ensuring facilities, buildings, and equipment used at the site are in good working order and in the highest state of reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs, installs, and maintains machinery, equipment, physical structures, and electrical systems by following specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings using hand tools, power tools, hoists, cranes, and measuring and testing instruments.
  • Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Dismantles machines and equipment to install new or repaired parts.
  • May operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • May fabricate and repair counters, benches, partitions, and other structures of general construction, and participate in moving office partitions and furniture.
  • Utilization and records updates within the company’s maintenance control software.
  • Inspects and tests machinery and equipment, using electrical and electronic test equipment.
  • Performs repairs and maintenance to the physical structures, buildings, and property.
  • Maintains building facilities by making routine repairs, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting.
  • Supports the annual/quarterly tests and inspections, inclusive of life safety, building, and equipment.
  • Works safely and complies with all established safety rules and work practices, and is responsible for lock-out tag-out.
  • Liaison with the Environmental Health & Safety Manager and Engineering to ensure building systems, machinery, and equipment are operating in the safest capacity.
  • Functions as a technical resource for all departments and, as such, is consistently able to communicate clearly and effectively with both technical personnel and non-technical personnel in an appropriate and understandable manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in industrial maintenance or machine tool operation.
  • 2 years of vocational or associate degree in machine tool or related technical discipline preferred.
  • HVAC experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and usage of basic hand/power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Ability to perform light-duty machining and welding.
  • Experience in diagnosing pneumatic and hydraulic systems problems.
  • 3-phase high voltage and DC electrical knowledge required.
  • Experience with metal fabrication equipment, including press brakes, welders, shears, grinders, sanders, CNC mills, and lathes helpful.
  • Basic PC skills.

  • Push/Pull: 0-25 lbs. continuously, 26-100 lbs. frequently
  • Bend: 34-66% during an 8-hour shift
  • Twist/Turn: 34-66% during an 8-hour shift
  • Kneel/Squat: 0-33% during an 8-hour shift
  • Sit: 0-33% during an 8-hour shift
  • Stand/Walk: 67-100% during an 8-hour shift
  • Overhead Reaching: 0-33% during an 8-hour shift
  • Ladder/Stair Climb: 0-33% during an 8-hour shift

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the current range is $28-$35/hour. The wage range for this role takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, certifications, as well as other business and organizational needs.
