About the role
American Plastics, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, is a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative plastic-injection molded products for the household & garage storage and commercial cleaning end-markets. This position is located in Jefferson City, MO.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and read electrical prints.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and repair hydraulic circuits; read machine schematics.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and repair pneumatic circuits; read machine schematics.
- Perform general maintenance, troubleshooting, debugging, and repair of injection-molding machines as needed.
- Execute lock out/tag out procedures on all injection and related equipment.
- Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions to prevent downtime through preventative, predictive, or continuous improvement ideas.
- Work with equipment suppliers to determine root cause of equipment failures and implement permanent solutions.
- Maintain plant facility and associated equipment.
- Perform daily checks of all injection molding equipment as outlined on the preventive maintenance schedule.
- Operate forklifts, man lifts, and cranes (training provided).
- Maintain the required basic set of tools needed to perform essential duties.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen and authorize a background check.
- Ability to work a 12-hour shift.
- Prior maintenance technician experience required (injection molding experience a plus).
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Knowledge of basic math skills.
- Demonstrate good judgment and decision-making ability.
- Possess interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels.
- Valid driver’s license; forklift experience or willingness to learn.
- Basic ability in one or more of the following: welding, brazing, soldering, refrigeration repair, machine shop training, plastic fabrication, electronic repair, mechanical engine repair, transmission repair, or robotics.
Schedule
Fixed 12-hour shifts (A, B, C, D) on a 2/2/3 rotation, providing a 3-day weekend every other week. The pattern consists of working two days, two days off, then three days, resulting in 14 working days per month.
