About the role

Troubleshoot, remove and replace different types of electronic, electromechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and optic systems. Pre-inspect parts or equipment to be repaired to determine what parts, supplies, forms, tools, tool repair and shop equipment are required; and communicate with Maintenance Manager. Read programmable controller information to diagnose complex problems. Diagnose and repair AC and DC motor controls. Replace belts, pulleys, cables, chains, bearings, gears and related equipment. Communicate with other plant personnel when requested to, to review deficiencies. Accurately log all work performed. Maintain work areas in a clean orderly manner. Operate a forklift safely and efficiently. Perform PM’s, cleans and lubricates molding machines and equipment. Modify, repair, and rebuild plant machinery and equipment. Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair. Visually inspect and solve problem machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions. Measure parts to detect wear, misalignment or improper operation. Document repairs and maintenance of manufacturing equipment. Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

Requirements

  • Understand the functionality of relays, motor contactors, motor starters, solid state relays, soft starts and variable frequency drives.
  • Familiarity with operation and troubleshooting of PLC programming.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot using schematic diagrams.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Experience in electrical distribution and machine controls ranging from 24 to 480 volts AC/DC.
  • Safely perform plant lockout/tagout procedures, electrical safety, hazard communication program, personal protective equipment and other safety programs and apply these procedures when working on equipment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a forklift.

  • Pneumatic troubleshooting and repair.

  • PLC programming and troubleshooting.
