What You'll Do
- Perform maintenance on plant process equipment, including wrappers, conveyors, MFDs, checkweigher, metal detector, code dating systems, autocasers, box makers, palletizer, stretch wrapper, fork trucks and pallet trucks.
- Perform modifications, component replacements, trouble-shooting, calibration, adjustments, performance checks, lubrication and start-up checks of equipment.
- Disassemble parts of the above machines at shutdown as required and prepare machines for sanitation.
- Reassemble machines after sanitation and set-up for production including complete pre-start-up checks for proper operation.
- Assist operators with start-up.
- Perform mechanical projects as assigned including planning of and for, purchase of materials, modification or installation of parts or components and major overhaul of assigned equipment.
- Share responsibility for maintenance of and training on ink-jet code dating systems including maintaining appropriate backup documentation and programs for the computer system.
- Provide training and stewardship for TPM in the department and plant.
- Any and all other duties as assigned by the TA/TL
What You Need To Succeed
- A High School Diploma - G.E.D.
- Ability to learn basic electrical skills.
- Must know the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to learn computer systems and operations.
- Must have an absenteeism rate of 65 points or less, commendable or better record in teamwork and overall job performance and have no disciplinary action.
- English speaking/reading requirement in positions that require comprehension of the English language.
- Must qualify on level 2 of Maintenance Testing.
- If you start in position as LVL 1, testing for LVL 2 must be completed within 1 year of accepting bid.
- Partners who are at LVL 1, will be considered in a probationary state for the first year, until LVL 2 testing is passed.
- Experience Maintenance of packaging and industrial equipment or one-year military or technical schooling in some areas of mechanics.
