Maintenance Technician
About the role
This is a skilled position at the journeyman level in several trades, performing various skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of machinery, buildings, and equipment. The employee exercises technical independence in determining work methods and procedures and receives assignments orally or through written instructions.
Responsibilities
- Installs, alters, electrical conduit, wiring, switching devices, controls, outlets, fixtures, motors, transformers, and other such equipment.
- Tests, maintains, and evaluates equipment performance using instruments such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, pyrometers, and pressure gauges.
- Troubleshoots PLC’s with computer terminal.
- Performs trouble shooting of faulty equipment and performs minor repairs as required and sees to general maintenance of system.
- Performs skilled maintenance activities including construction, welding, brazing, soldering, and plumbing.
- Checks and repairs pumps, fans, valves, and motors.
- Adjusts, repairs, and replaces electrical and electronic pneumatic relays.
- Prepares accurate records for preventive maintenance.
Requirements
Must be willing to abide by the company handbook in regard to following safety rules and job rotations. Must be willing to report unsafe conditions, participate in safety/ergo committees, safety Kazan events, blue sky initiatives, safety audits, and safety observation feedback events. Must also participate in communications events such as plant-wide meetings, line meetings, department meetings, and training exercises.
Pay
The pay rate for this position is $30.00 per hour.
