Maintenance Technician (Aldon at Keys Crossing)

About the role

The Maintenance Technician position at Van Metre's Aldon at Keys Crossing Apartments in Greenville, SC, is under the direction of the Property Manager and Service Manager. This role involves general maintenance, repairs, and resident service requests.

Responsibilities

• Aid the Service Manager in managing and overseeing all maintenance aspects of the community.
• Schedule and perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and janitorial services.
• Handle general repair work for property grounds, apartments, and building exteriors.
• Support maintenance of storage areas and manage inventory and storage areas.
• Purchase adequate maintenance materials for service requests and apartment turns.
• Perform turnover work as defined by Van Metre for vacant units.
• Walk the property daily to maintain curb appeal and monitor safety issues.
• Report any safety or liability concerns to the Service Manager and Property Manager.
• Complete tasks outlined in a timely manner and provide excellent customer service.
• Respond to after-hours emergency requests and ensure property staff coverage 24/7.

Requirements

• Maintain a professional and courteous manner with residents, visitors, contractors, and fellow employees.
• Have the necessary skills to complete tasks such as appliance, electrical, and plumbing repair.
• Have a strong understanding of HVAC and electrical circuitry.
• Be familiar with OSHA, building, and safety standards.
• Bring own basic tools and know how to safely use and maintain them.
• Have a valid drivers' license.
• Work weekends are required.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of maintenance experience or valid EPA and CPO training.
• Strong understanding of appliance, electrical, and plumbing repair.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC and electrical circuitry.
• Current on OSHA, building, and safety standards.
• Own basic tools and be knowledgeable about their safe use.
• Valid drivers' license.

Pay and Schedule

• $22.00-$23.00 per hour, with potential for an annual bonus of $5,000 paid quarterly.
• Flexible schedule accommodating weekend work.
