About the role
This position supports machine operation while prioritizing safety. Key responsibilities include setup, minor repair, and preventive maintenance of various mechanical, hydraulic, and specialty equipment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure operation of machinery through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, gearboxes, couplings, conveyor systems, and production machines.
- Identify and resolve mechanical issues by observing operations, using precision measuring tools, and following diagrams, sketches, and engineering specifications.
- Remove, repair, and replace defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
- Perform equipment setup, adjustments, minor repairs, and tooling replacements to ensure proper functionality.
- Control downtime by informing production workers of preventive maintenance techniques and ensuring compliance.
- Maintain documentation of maintenance activities, including reports on issues, solutions, and preventive actions.
- Work closely with production employees, Leads, Process Managers, and Engineers to maximize machine uptime and improve processes.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of tools, spare parts, and materials needed for maintenance and production.
- Perform required preventive maintenance (PM) tasks and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Follow all safety guidelines, company policies, and workplace organization standards.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED with a minimum of 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Completion of Industrial Maintenance Program is a plus.
- Proficient in using measuring devices, rules, scales, gauges, and fixtures.
- Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting and Microsoft Office is a plus.
- Power truck and welding experience is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to multi-task under deadlines, and work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with a positive and self-motivated attitude.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands for handling tools and equipment.
- Ability to lift and move objects over 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required, including close vision and ability to adjust focus.
