Maintenance Technician 7:30am to 4pm

About the role

The Maintenance Technician position at Alameda Center offers a competitive salary range of $17 to $18 per hour, with a flexible schedule including alternating weekends (typically one weekend a month).

Responsibilities

• Works closely with and follows directions from the Maintenance Director;
• Maintains building and grounds in a clean, safe and orderly condition;
• Maintains and repairs basic functions of the facility as determined by the Maintenance Director;
• Takes care of the tools and equipment;
• Makes minor repairs on handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkling systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers, changes filters on HVAC equipment, carries, lifts and stocks supplies;
• Remains on call, when assigned, for 24 hours a day;
• Affirms supervisor’s responsibilities in his/her absence;
• Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights;
• Performs other duties as requested.

Requirements

• High school degree or equivalent and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry;
• Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.

• Agile and in good physical health;
• Ability to positively interact with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public;
• Provides annual verification of negative TB skin test.
