About the role
Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is seeking a self-motivated Maintenance Technician to join our dedicated Facilities Division. The role involves ensuring the safety, functionality, and appearance of our buildings, including offices, fitness centers, and landscaped areas, by performing general maintenance and repair tasks such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, and more.
Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drywall, millwork, and painting as needed.
- Maintain outside appearance of assigned facilities, including minor landscaping tasks, shoveling snow, etc.
- Move furniture in offices and residential facilities, as needed.
- Advise the Supervisor on the condition of buildings and facilities by conducting regular inspections of those areas and reporting the results of the inspections with particular emphasis on needed repairs.
- Troubleshoot and repair all defective equipment including dismantling of machine and installing of new or repaired parts, using hand tools and power tools.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
- Promote a safety-oriented culture
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED preferred, or a minimum of two years' related experience.
- Two years of experience in Maintenance which includes knowledge of procedures, equipment and supplies.
- Must have a valid Drivers License and must pass a MVR check.
- Preferred: HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing certificates.
- Excellent detailed organizational skills.
- Capable of completing a variety of tasks in an efficient manner.
- Self-starter who takes initiative in starting and completing tasks.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Exemplary interpersonal skills.
- Preferred: Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality in all matters relating to clients, staff, and projects.
- Able to work productively with a minimum of supervision.
- Excellent problem solving, communication skills, and positive attitude.
- Physical strength and dexterity to perform essential functions.
- Minor plumbing, HVAC, electrical, wood working, painting, framing, sheet rock, tape and texture.
- Ability to drive in inclement weather, including snow, rain, ice, wind.

Schedule
This position is fully Onsite/In-person. The schedule is Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm.
Pay
The salary for this role is $20.04 - $30.05 per hour, starting wage is based on experience and company equity, paid bi-weekly.
