Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift
About the role
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installation, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial machinery and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role supports production through preventative maintenance, minimizing downtime, and ensuring equipment is calibrated and functioning to specification. Success is measured by SQDEP+: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Equipment, and Productivity, with an additional focus on intangible attributes like employee engagement and organizational culture.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and control systems, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality. The Maintenance Technician may lead improvement or repair initiatives independently or in collaboration with other business leaders.
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial machinery and systems to ensure reliable operation and achievement of production goals.
- Perform preventative maintenance, safety checks, and inspections to minimize downtime and ensure reliable operation of production equipment.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions by observing machine operation, conducting tests, and analyzing performance data.
- Dismantle, repair, and reassemble machinery; remove, replace, or fabricate defective parts to ensure optimal performance.
- Install and calibrate new production equipment, adjusting to meet operational requirements while complying with safety and quality standards.
- Maintain HVAC, plumbing, and building facilities to guarantee functionality.
- Keep accurate maintenance records, documentation, and communication to facilitate effective maintenance and knowledge transfer.
- Contribute to a continuous improvement culture by identifying waste and improving maintenance processes and techniques.
- Proactively communicate activities to affected department leaders and complete tasks with minimal interruption.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in maintenance, facilities, or a related field.
- Experience in a manufacturing production environment is preferred.

- Understanding of industrial equipment and their application in a production environment.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues.

Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking (8-10 hours depending on the task).
- Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, and reach up to 50 lbs. at a time.
- Use of approved Safety Glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed boots is required.
- Gloves and other PPE may be required depending on assigned tasks.
