Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain printing presses, converting equipment, facility systems, and other production equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum, and control system issues.
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and restore equipment to service safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical manuals, and equipment documentation.
- Perform welding, fabrication, machining, and custom repairs as needed.
- Complete work orders and accurately document maintenance activities.
- Follow all OSHA, company, and plant safety requirements, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Arc Flash procedures.
- Maintain machine guarding and safety devices; report unsafe conditions and near misses immediately.
- Participate in safety training and continuous improvement activities; wear required PPE and promote a safe work environment.
- Be self-motivated, dependable, and take initiative in maintaining equipment reliability and quality.
- Respond to equipment issues with urgency and maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Support a clean work environment and collaborate with Production, Quality, and Leadership to achieve plant goals.
- Remain flexible during breakdowns, shutdowns, and emergency repairs, including staying on-site when necessary.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical school, industrial maintenance certification, military technical training, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Experience with printing, packaging, converting, or related manufacturing equipment is beneficial.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude; basic understanding of industrial electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems (motors, relays, contactors, sensors, VFDs, control circuits).
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical manuals.
- Ability to prioritize tasks while maintaining a focus on safety and production.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn and expand technical skills.
