Maintenance Technician (3rd Shift)
About the role
The Process Improvement Technician at Marmon Industrial Energy and Infrastructure (MIEI) – Mount Pleasant is responsible for continuous improvement in all activities, processes, and projects at Dekoron Wire & Cable, Inc. They also plan and provide preventive and predictive maintenance for existing machinery and equipment, work with vendors and suppliers to forecast and plan, repair and maintain all machinery and building, fabricate and/or design new concepts for machinery and equipment, maintain history of machinery operations and forecast problems, participate in proper maintenance inventory, troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical problems with plant equipment and building, recommend process improvements, work as a team with other PITT Crew members, as well as other Dekoron employees, design and promote safety in all processes, practice lock out/tag out, and perform other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities

- Plan and provide preventive and predictive maintenance for existing machinery and equipment
- Work with vendors and suppliers to forecast and plan
- Repair and maintain all machinery and building
- Fabricate and/or design new concepts for machinery and equipment
- Maintain history of machinery operations and forecast problems
- Participates in proper maintenance inventory
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical problems with plant equipment and building
- Recommend process improvements
- Work as a team with other PITT Crew members, as well as other Dekoron employees
- Design and promote safety in all processes
- Practice lock out/tag out
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Preferred: High School diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: Certification from a trade or technical school
- Minimum of two years of related industrial experience
Education and Experience
- Preferred: Basic machining skills
- Preferred: Basic knowledge of plant and machine safety
- Preferred: Knowledge of electrical wiring and control circuits
- Preferred: Knowledge of PLC or relay control logic
- Preferred: Ability to install conduit or cable trays for electrical needs
- Preferred: Ability to weld with Electrical or Gas welder
- Preferred: Knowledge of working with high voltage; low voltage
- Preferred: Knowledge of single phase motors; three phase motors
- Preferred: Knowledge of working with gearboxes
- Preferred: Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
- Preferred: Monitoring – watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly
- Preferred: Equipment selection – determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job
- Preferred: Control Precision – adjust controls of the machine to exact positions
- Preferred: Communication – understand and follow written and oral instructions
