Maintenance Technician 3 Daylight (Monday-Thursday 5:30am to 3:30pm)

About the role

The Maintenance Technician position involves installing, troubleshooting, and repairing various types of equipment and systems within the distribution center. Responsibilities include performing preventative and predictive maintenance, managing equipment downtime, and ensuring full functionality of all forklifts, racking, and facility equipment.

Responsibilities

• Installation, troubleshooting, and repair of material handling equipment, including conveyors, motor-driven rollers, gear-reducers, motors, and associated equipment.
• Installation, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Preventative and predictive maintenance, repair, and installation of machinery and equipment.
• Advanced diagnostic troubleshooting.
• Ensuring full functionality of all forklifts, racking, and other general facility equipment and systems.
• Optimizing maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
• Controlling downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
• Maintaining continuity among work teams by documenting actions, communicating irregularities, and scheduling correction of abnormalities.
• Performing timely and effective preventative maintenance work, with quality and professional results.
• Promoting and conducting good housekeeping practices, including 5S principles.
• Supporting Operations by working in a safe, customer-focused manner.
• Aiding with building and site start-up as required.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical Degree, or certificate, and 2 years experience, or a minimum of 4 years work-related experience.
• Technically experienced with industrial maintenance; corrective/breakdown experience.
• Follows set safety procedures and guidelines.
• Self-motivated, responsible, safety-oriented individual with time management skills.
• Earns and maintains Powered Industrial Truck operator certification as well as Yard Truck certification.
• Able to work indoors and outdoors, including in inclement weather.
• Knowledge of First Aid/CPR and AED.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E and Arc Flash principles.
• Proficient in use of hand tools, powered hand tools, and electrical test and measurement equipment.
• Thorough working knowledge of industrial equipment, usage, and safety procedures/processes.
• Basic skills to troubleshoot/repair/PM of HVAC systems; roof top units, split-units, air handling units, CRAC units, gas heaters, and make-up units.
• Ability to use/manipulate Building Management System.
• Ability to use/manipulate HMI system to troubleshoot the MHE flow.
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System.
• Knowledge and understanding of power generation systems; troubleshooting, outage procedures, and load shedding.
• Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot/repair industrial electrical and control circuits.
• General plumbing and construction skills.
• Fabrication/welding experience preferred.
• Flexibility to work all days and shifts, including overtime on request.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish, a plus.
• Proficiency with Google Suite, a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Continuous (67% to 100%): Lift up to 35 lbs, including overhead; carry up to 35 lbs; grip up to 35 lbs; push/pull up to 20 lbs; bend/stoop/reach; stand/walk.
• Frequent (34% to 66%): Overhead reaching; stair climbing and working at platform heights to 75 ft.
• Occasional (1% to 33%): Lift 36 to 50 lbs; carry 36 to 50 lbs; push up to 40 lbs; awkward posture to access machines with 19” clearance.
